Students at Main Campus now have more food options. A Corner Store Market opened Dec. 31, 2015, at the intersection of SW Loop 410 and Zarzamora, offering a variety of food choices.
The Corner Store Market is a game changer with many affordable options for everyone such as produce tables; selections of grab-and-go foods and a counter where customers can ask for made-to-order meals.
The store’s owner, CST Brands, is a publicly traded company with a primary mission: convenience. CST Brands is becoming a higher standard in the way corner stores are perceived.
The company split from energy corporation Valero last year, said Melisa Cancino, DeBerry Group director of operations.
Most people associate convenience stores as a place to gas up their cars.
“This is a new innovative way of getting what we need when we need it at the moment, especially for us students with a busy schedule,” said business senior Esmeralda Arredondo. “Students are getting tired of our school cafeteria’s limited and expensive food.”
“I’m glad there are more options now, just minutes away,” she said.
More stores will open in the coming years, according to the CST website.
