Our Fall 2021 Student Team
Daisy Gonzalez-Quezada is a communication senior at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She transferred from Allen County Community College in Kansas in 2019. In her spare time, she likes to listen to music and watch either sitcoms or k-dramas. She wants to explore the world as a journalist after graduating.
Denise Treviño is a senior communications major at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Born and raised in the Alamo City, she has always aspired to make a difference in her community. She hopes to grow her storytelling skills and delve deeper into the world of multimedia journalism through her current work at university. After graduation, she looks forward to pursuing a career that allows her to tell stories that will inspire as well as entertain. In her free time, you will find her watching and analyzing British detective shows on the couch with her dogs Ransom and Dougie, strumming a ukulele or out on a hike with family and friends.
Asiah Mendoza is a communications junior with a minor in psychology. Born and raised in San Antonio, she enjoys writing and listening to music in her free time. Her favorite things to do are go to concerts and discover new artists. After graduation, she hopes to combine her two interests and become a music journalist.

Gabrielle Tellez is a communications junior at Texas A&M University-San Antonio and Social Media Editor at the Mesquite, minoring in English studies and specializing in digital marketing. When she isn't writing witty captions for social media, Tellez flexes her creative muscles by creating digital art using the latest design software. Certified in marketing strategies and local tourism, Tellez hopes to pursue her passions without straying too far from her beloved home of San Antonio.

Amber Esparza is a junior Communications major at Texas A&M University - San Antonio. She transferred from the Alamo Colleges with Associate degrees in Radio-Television-Broadcasting and Journalism. Amber loves all things media. After earning her BA in Journalism, Amber hopes to continue on to grad school to pursue her MFA in Film.

Raymond Calderon III is a senior at Texas A&M University-San Antonio majoring in communications with a minor in English. He transferred from Austin Community Colleges where he received an associate degree in journalism. He hopes to cover sports as a sports journalist, and also dabbles in photography, taking a few photography courses; being able to combine the two would be great to experience.
