Texas A&M-San Antonio will host a graduation fair 2 p.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 26-27 in the foyer of Main Campus Building giving students an opportunity to meet with representatives from vendors Herff Jones and Balfour.
Herff Jones and Balfour have been manufacturing products such as graduation rings, commencement announcements and cap and gowns for over 100 years.
Graduation Coordinator Dolores Scritchfield together with bookstore Manager Krista Cooper, organized the graduation fair this semester. Scritchfield has been the graduation coordinator for two years, and believes many can benefit from the fair.
In addition to ordering the graduation essentials, students will also be able to meet with graduate advisers and career services representatives.
According to the flier, fall graduates can purchase and order regalia, like a cap and gown, graduation announcements and a class ring.
A cap, gown and tassel cost $42.98 plus tax for undergraduates receiving a bachelor’s degree. Graduates receiving a master’s degree will be charged $69.98 plus tax for a cap, gown, tassel and hood. Honors and military cords are $11.98 for eligible students. All major credit cards and cash will be accepted. No checks will be accepted.
Fall graduation will be 6 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Freeman Colliseum.
While December graduates are encouraged to attend, Scritchfield said future graduates may also want to attend to become familiar with graduation essentials.
The University sent out an email Sept. 18 already encouraging spring graduates to apply. The application deadline for spring graduation is Nov. 1.
