With Super Tuesday coming to an end, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden secured a decisive victory over Bernie Sanders in nine out of 15 states holding Democratic primary elections.
The Republican primary results show that President Donald Trump will likely remain the incumbent candidate in the 2020 presidential election.
Biden ended the Texas primary with 34.5 percent of votes and 42 delegates, leading Sanders who finished at 29.9 percent and 38 delegates according to state election polls referenced in a Washington Post story.
Biden won Texas by securing the vote in larger counties that include Dallas and Houston. Sanders won both Bexar and Travis counties, which include San Antonio and Austin.
Along with Texas, Biden won the primary in eight other states: Alabama, Arkansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Sanders won California, Colorado and Vermont.
Michael Bloomberg dropped out of the presidential race after falling to third place and lower in many states. The only constituency where he won the majority of delegates was American Samoa with 49.9 percent of votes, according to The Washington Post.
Elizabeth Warren soon dropped out on March 5, declaring the end of her presidential campaign.
Texas A&M University-San Antonio hosted a polling site in the lobby of the Mays Center. During early voting, 909 people voted at the site, according to KSAT. Super Tuesday brought in another 378 voters, according to the Bexar County Elections Office.
