Festival De Cascarones ends Fiesta with a smash

After two long years, Texas A&M University-San Antonio’s annual Festival De Cascarones has returned to the city’s Southside.

Festival De Cascarones returned for its 10th year from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 10 on the university’s fast-growing campus. Throughout the event, visitors came out to lounge around the grounds and enjoy classic fiesta food and drinks, live music, and family-friendly activities like painting, a bouncy-house and mini-games in the Kids-Zone.

The event featured performances from Havana NRG, Mariachi Son De Esperanza, the Jaguarettes, the Teresa Champion Dance Academy, Danzantes de Corazón and Jaguar Percussion. The day ended with the annual Cascarones Smash on the East Lawn and a performance from Country music artist Kevin Fowler.

The festival was 2022 Fiesta San Antonio 2022’s final official event.
