Texas A&M University-San Antonio’s library will host Lemonade and Little Debbie with the Library on Thursday, Jan. 17. The event will take place on the second floor of the Central Academic Building in the lobby outside the library between 10 a.m. and noon, and then from 4 to 6 p.m. Students are encouraged to come and learn about the services the library has available. Library staff will offer participants lemonade and Little Debbie snack cakes.
Bryant Moore, reference librarian, said they will have a spinning wheel labeled with library services. Students can spin the wheel and staff members will explain each service the pointer lands on to help students utilize the library to its full capacity.
“It’s a good way to connect with students beyond the doors of the library,” Moore said. “We do it every semester as part of welcome week.”
Moore said there are a couple of under utilized library services which he said are helpful for students. The library offers research guides and subject librarians are available for specific colleges, such as Arts & Sciences and the College of Business.
This event is primarily targeted towards first semester students and those unfamiliar with library services. However, students looking for something sweet between classes can still stop by and learn something new about the library.
