Students at Texas A&M University-San Antonio can learn how to apply to graduate and professional schools at a virtual event 2-5 p.m. Oct. 20 on Handshake

The Graduate and Professional School Fair is meant to assist students with continuing their education for their preferred careers. The fair provides information on required GPAs and prerequisites for specific programs.

The Graduate and Professional School Fair is hosted by the Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement.

The annual fall event is open to all college students in the San Antonio area, including alumni. It allows students to connect with graduate admission officers through 30-minute group sessions or a one-on-one session.

It can help guide students to “do something that (you) can build upon,” said Kenny Huynh, computer information systems senior, who might attend the event.

Clarissa Tejeda, associate director of Career Services, said people who attend the event will be introduced to graduate admission officers from schools like UCLA, UTSA and Johns Hopkins University.

“Each university or college has a graduate admissions officer that attend on their behalf, so they’re the ones that can tell you how the… process looks like,”Tejeda said.

“It’s important to have guidance,” Huynh said.
