Texas A&M University-San Antonio is following in the footsteps of Rachel Maddow and Anderson Cooper when it comes to podcasts.
The political science program has created a new podcast titled ‘Real PoliTALK’ that focuses on foreign policy, local government, civil rights and much more.
The podcast is created, produced and edited by lecturer Selina J. Lugo. Listeners can expect to hear dialogue about political science, voting rights and civil liberties.
The podcast also connects to discussions and assignments in Lugo’s Texas Government class.
“The purpose here was really to pull students in,” said professor Lugo. “I want to provide a healthy dialogue and discourse on democracy because modes of creative political communication is key.”
Lugo writes all the scripts for the podcast. Her interest in political science pushes her to bring the podcast to its full potential. The podcast currently has five episodes, each episode breaking down what Lugo is teaching in her classroom.
“I really hit the ground running.” Lugo said.
Students can find the podcast on the Apple Store or by going to www.tamusa.edu/college-of-arts-and-sciences/social-sciences/politicalscience/real-politalk-podcast.html
