Remembering Selena through campus celebrations

Texas A&M University-San Antonio celebrated the life of late Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla in the days leading up to what would have been her 51st birthday.

Hosted by the University library, The Mexican American Student Association and the Bilingual Education Student Organization, events included painting, trivia, movies and more.

27 years after her death, Selena’s career still has a strong impact on the university community.

The library hopes events like this will continue to empower the student population, a representative said.

Students can find more events like this through JagSync or on the University Calendar.
