In an email inviting students to attend the forums, Dr. Sean Kearney, chair of the search committee, thanked students for helping Texas A&M-San Antonio meet its goal of becoming the premier teacher preparation program in South Central Texas.
A key to continued success at the university, he said, “will be selecting our next head of the School of Education and Kinesiology.”
Kearney said a search committee has been working diligently throughout this semester and is proud to present five finalists for the position. The position was formerly held by interim school Head Beto Gonzalez who resigned in August.
“It is vital that all constituencies have a voice in this selection process,” Kearney said, inviting students to meet the finalists.
According to the Spring 2011 University Fact book compiled by the office of institutional research, there are 853 undergraduate students and 557 graduate students enrolled in the School of Education and Kinesiology, which is served by 88 faculty members.
