President Maria Hernandez Ferrier was interviewed by Time Magazine for an article on the affordable degree plan established by Texas A&M-San Antonio in partnership with the Alamo Colleges.
Ferrier was interviewed Jan. 30 by Time reporter Kayla Webley. Further detail on the article and a publication release date were not available, Communications Assistant Jillian Reddish, said.
Reddish said Ferrier was interviewed over-the-phone in late January.
This is not the first media exposure the affordable degree plan has received. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Huffington Post, and local outlets including the the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News, have also covered the degree plan.
Last spring, A&M-San Antonio’s affordable degree plan was discussed at a South by Southwest Education panel in Austin, Texas. The conference led to additional coverage such as the March 2012 article by Time business reporter Josh Sanburn who reported on A&M-San Antonio’s bachelor’s degree program in information technology and cyber security.
