Brooks City-Base plans to stabilize, restore Hangar 9 near Brooks Campus

Left: Hangar 9, built in 1918, is one of 16 original hangers built during World War I at Brooks Field. Brooks Development Authority said April 9 that it is the last remaining wooden aircraft hangar in the U.S. Air Force and was last restored in 1969 as part of a community effort. The public was invited to attend a proposed master plan overview by Andrew Zapata, director of planning and development from Brooks Development Authority. Photos by Chris Ramos.
