Dozens of neatly stacked signs advertising Campus Organization Rush signify the beginning of an active semester for student activities. With the start of the Spring 2015 semester, new and returning students at Texas A&M-San Antonio are encouraged by the office of student activities and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) to attend Club Rush.

Club Rush, held each fall and spring, is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Welcome Center of Brooks City-Base Campus.

The student-centered event continues from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, on the first floor foyer of the Central Academic Building of Main Campus.

“We should have over 20 different organizations at the event,” said Hoyt Garner, CAB president. “We are working with the office of student activities for the student appreciation part of the rush.”

CAB member Kimberly Vasquez said as part of student appreciation, T-shirts are available for attendees.

“If a student brings a T-shirt from another college campus to the Club Rush, we will trade them an A&M-SA shirt for it,” Vasquez said.

In the Fall 2014 Campus Organization Rush, different student-run clubs and organizations, such as the Literary Club and the Student Government Association, attended the event.

Garner could not verify which organizations would be present in the upcoming Club Rush, but encouraged students to come to the event on either day.
