Brooks hosts Feel Good Festival

The 2nd San Antonio Feel Good Festival will be held 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, at Brooks City Base.

Organized by the South San Antonio Chamber, the festivals goal is to promote wellness and healthy living in the surrounding community through giveaways and promotions.

“Brooks is thrilled to be partnering with the South Chamber for the annual Feel Good Festival,” Connie Gonzalez, Brooks City Base Director of Public Relations, stated in an email. “In the future, we hope to host this event at The Greenline, a 43-acre urban linear park scheduled for completion in Fall 2017. To keep our South Side community healthy and happy, it’s important to create opportunities for fun and fitness in our own backyard.”


The day kicks off at Flyte, located at 7902 Challenger Drive, with Spur Jesus, the San Antonio Spurs super fan who dresses as Jesus to support the Spurs, leading a 5k Fun Run from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Each participant will receive an event T-shirt and a swag bag. The run will begin begin promptly at 8 a.m.

The first 200 participants to sign up are free of charge after which tickets for the Spurs Jesus Fun Run are $25. Online Registration closes on Oct. 19 with same day registration available at the event.  For more information or online registration visit the sign-up site here.

After the run, community members are invited to try healthy foods offered by farmers market vendors or from Cousins Maine Lobster food truck, and enjoy music local acts from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

The festival includes a Feel Good Basketball Invitational set for 10:00 a.m. – 6 p.m., and located at Brooks City Base Gym, 2860 Louis Bauer Drive.

Tickets for the tournament cost $100 per team, and a total of eight players may join per team.
