A blast email survey asks students their opinions about on-campus housing this week.
Survey takers are placed in a random drawing to win a MacBook Pro.
The questionnaire, which takes about fifteen minutes, asks students for floor plan preferences and their thoughts on pricing.
The most expensive scenario asks students if they would pay $3913 per semester for a unit with two private bedrooms and one bath.
The survey tries to identify who would be attracted to dorm living, asking students how they will pay their bills, their primary form of transportation, and what amenities they think are worth paying for.
The housing, created through a public-private partnership with American Campus Communities, a real estate investment trust company, is expected to open Fall 2017, Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Success, Jo Anna Benavides-Franke, said.
Incoming full-time freshmen are given first picks for the 350-bed facility.
“The first round of housing is intended for full-time freshmen, they are first priority and we will work down from there,” she said.
Leasing details and the roommate matching process have not been finalized, Benavides-Franke said.
