Jags TEACH, a student organization for education majors at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, will host its 2nd Annual McDonald’s Fundraiser from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Contreras Family McDonald’s, 10042 S. Zarzamora St. Out of any sale between those hours 20% will be donated to support Jags TEACH for study sessions, workshops and mentorship opportunities.

Pearl Davalos, the event coordinator, said the fundraiser plays an important role in supporting students cultivating a career in education.

“Our purpose is to help future teachers by creating a supportive community for those pursuing careers in education,” Davalos said.

Proceeds will help students prepare for the three required certification exams to become certified educators. Jags TEACH offers study sessions and resources to support education majors. The student organization plans to extend the study session to different areas of the test, like fine arts, this semester. Last year the organization raised between $350 and $378.

Jags TEACH plans to continue hosting events that support academic success and professional development for future educators. Students interested in getting involved can look forward to upcoming study sessions, workshops and fundraising events throughout the semester.
