To assist students in their search for off-campus housing, Texas A&M University-San Antonio will host the spring 2023 apartment fair 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. April 12 in the Ceremony Room of Patriots’ Casa.
“This is something that we are doing to meet the needs of our students,” said Caylee Tijerina, communication specialist for Student Success and Engagement, which partnered with the student housing department on the event.
The event is free to all currently enrolled A&M-San Antonio students.
Attendees will explore off-campus housing options for the summer and fall 2023 semesters by viewing the layouts and designs of available apartments near A&M-San Antonio, learning about amenities such as laundry and free wifi and speaking to the complexes’ representatives.
Representatives from VIA, University Health, Financial Aid, Financial Literacy and the Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement will also participate.
Tijerina said it is important for students to know what their housing situation will be like in the summer and fall. Attendees should have an idea of their desired move-in date and whether they want to live with a roommate prior to the event.
The student housing department will also introduce its new Off-Campus Housing Website, which allows students to view all current rental listings in the area, search for a roommate and view tips and resources all in one place.
The site features mostly three-bedroom homes with rents ranging from $1,525 to $1,895 near campus. Locations include Hunters Pond and Mission Del Lago.
The Mays Center will give away items such as planners and budgeting templates, geared toward financial success.
