University celebrates veterans

In appreciation for veterans and families on campus, Texas A&M University-San Antonio will host a number of events throughout the month in honor of Military Family Appreciation Month.
Most events are open for all Texas A&M-San Antonio students and staff. Some are invitation only and require registration. See the updated calendar below for more information.
Nov. 1-2: the Small Business Administration will host Boots to Business: Reboot, a seminar to teach veterans and family members who hope to start, or maintain, a small business. Time: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Patriots’ Casa.
Registration required.
Nov. 3: The Patriots’ Casa hosts the Medal of Honor Character Development Program, open to all middle and high school teachers. Time: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Registration required.
Nov. 5: Humor for Heroes comedy show, hosted at the university auditorium. Juan Villarreal headlines the show. Tickets for the event are available on Eventbrite, and are $15 for one or 2/$25. Time: 6 p.m. Open to everyone
Nov. 8: Military Kid/spouse luncheon. Hosted/sponsored by Military Affairs and Military Children Education Coalition, Patriots’ Casa Ceremony Room. Time: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. By invitation only
Nov. 9: The Introduction to the Military Criminal Justice System U.C.M.J collaboration with Military Affairs, with Dr. Durant Frantzen and the Criminology Program. Patriots’ Casa Ceremony Room at 9 a.m. Open to everyone.
Nov. 10: The Camo ‘n’ Ice Cream Social will be held in front of Patriots’ Casa. Time: 2-4 p.m. Open to everyone.
The Flag Raising Ceremony will commence Nov. 11 starting at 8:30 a.m. on the back patio of Patriots’ Casa. The Veteran’s Day Ceremony will follow from 11-1:30 p.m. During the Branches of Service Recognition, a member of each branch of the military will be honored during the branch song. By Invitation only.
Nov. 12: In celebration of veterans and their service, A&M-San Antonio hosts a Veteran’s Day Parade. Open to everyone.
Nov. 17: An invite-only networking opportunity with university veteran employees and business leaders will be in the Vista Room. Enjoy a panel discussion about transitioning to the business world, resume writing and how to successfully complete a digital interview. Time: 5-8 p.m. Invitation only
