The University Police Department is asking for help in identifying the people involved in a graffiti crime Sept. 15 near Classroom Hall following the beam-signing ceremony. According to UPD’s Instagram page, the incident happened at approximately 5:09 p.m.
The beam that will be placed within the new College of Business and Library space was found vandalized. Graffiti on university property is a felony, and the university reserves the right to impose disciplinary action on those who have violated the Student Code of Conduct, according to the Student Handbook.
The event recognized Texas A&M University-San Antonio’s rapid expansion and success with a preview tour of the College of Business and Library building, according to the university’s website. Students and university officials were welcomed to participate in the beam-signing to commemorate the new space.
The Mesquite reached out to campus police by email. University Police Sgt. Catrina Nanez-Leal said she could not comment on cases pending adjudication in the court system.
