Police are searching for a Hispanic male, approximately 20 years old wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeve blue shirt.

The suspect is accused of stealing a black 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe from the 400 block of Yukon Boulevard, four miles northeast of Main Campus at approximately 5:37 a.m. Wednesday morning.

According to the police report, the owner of the stolen vehicle left his car parked in front of his home with the engine running and saw the suspect enter the vehicle using his home surveillance camera.

The car’s owner gave chase in a second vehicle and followed the suspect to the westbound access road of Southeast Loop 410 and then onto the eastbound access road of Southeast Loop 410.

The suspect then exited the car and fled into a wooded area.

The University Police Department assisted the San Antonio Police Department with their search for the suspect because of the close proximity to campus.

SAPD helicopters and patrol cars along with UPD searched the surrounding area near the Verano Land, north of Main Campus but was not apprehended.

UPD alerted staff and students with emails and phone calls using the timely warning system and asks anyone who sees a suspect matching the description to call 210-784-1911.
