Welcome to the ooey gooey cheesy deliciousness of Somerset’s best and friendliest pizza joint, Constantino’s Pizza.

Seven minutes outside Loop 410, alongside Loop 1604, stands Ned Waldie’s rustic double-wide mobile home turned family-friendly restaurant, where smiles remain generous, glasses never run dry, and the pies keep pizza lovers coming back for more as Constantino’s strives on supplying quality products for a diverse crowd.

At Constantino’s, you’ll see local baseball teams, football teams, big families, small families, students and teachers alike, city folk, even out-of-towners all the way from New York enjoying mouth-watering hot sandwiches, pasta, pizza rolls, calzones, salads, and, of course, the delectable pizza.

It feels like a family reunion here. Handmade wooden tables and benches, local football and baseball jerseys hanging from the walls, a warm fireplace, K-LOVE resonating from the kitchen all make for a hometown feel with air bursting with the essence of fresh garlic butter baked atop soft hand-tossed dough with fresh toppings.

Soft crust melting when it hits the tongue, cheese reluctant to pull away from the flavor packed slice of enticing toppings —  this pizza baits patrons into the homely, small-town, come-as-you-are eatery. The hook: wings. Not too spicy, not too mild. As big as three fingers, the wings provide the perfect side dish, especially dipped in the top secret creamy ranch dressing.

Filled with…cheesy love. Photo by Sarah Ortiz.

Looking for a bargain? Constantino’s is the place to frequent with $6.99 lunch buffets, incorporating all-you-can-eat pizza, wings, salad and a drink, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  The gigantic three topping calzones (recommended with Canadian bacon, pepperoni, and pineapples) are graciously priced at $8.99 and will easily feed three.

Constantino’s also provides daily steals and deals written on the dry-erase board standing next to the register. A welcoming wait staff is hard at work ready to serve up soul warming cheesy goodness.

Whenever the craving for pizza strikes, Constantino’s tops my list of scrumptious, got-to-have-it, couldn’t-get-any-better-than-this pizza spots in the San Antonio and surrounding areas.
