Texas A&M University-San Antonio is giving current and future students the chance to win a tuition-free semester through the university’s Golden Egg contest.

The winner will receive a tuition fee waiver for up to 15 credit hours during the fall 2020 semester at A&M-San Antonio. Other prizes include a Fiesta prize pack with two VIP tickets to the Festival De Cascarones rescheduled November date and Jaguar swag pack for the second and third place winners.

Esperanza Hall and American Campus Communities will be awarding $500 in gift cards to students participating in the Golden Egg contest. Five winners will receive a $100 gift card.

The contest is a virtual element of A&M-San Antonio’s traditional Festival De Cascarones event, according to the university website. The annual event marks the end of San Antonio’s Fiesta. The festival was postponed until November amid the coronavirus pandemic.

To enter, students must submit “the best at-home video of a cascarone smash.”

According to the contest entry form, contestants must:

  • Be a current student at A&M-San Antonio for the spring 2020 semester or an incoming student for fall 2020
  • Be present online during the announcement on the university’s Facebook Live 6 p.m. on April 26
  • Fill out the contest entry form

Contest submissions are open now through noon April 26.
